Red Book Amendments

Several years ago, members of UDI attended a public hearing on amendments to the Red Book.  The Red book is a set of engineering standards which is used to ensure civil work is done to code and engineering standards.  During the hearing, UDI’s Executive Director, Stephen Adams, suggested a program whereby projects submitted developers and consultants with a proven track record be given priority consideration for approvals.  Stephen referred to this as being similar to the ‘Nexus’ program for frequent travelers. He will be meeting with HRM staff in February to discuss the details and assist with a strategy to move forward.
