Eric Stotts - Stotts Architecture

Eric is a Registered Architect in Nova Scotia and New Brunswick and holds an NCARB Certificate.
 

Eric was born and raised in Peoria, Illinois.  Eric received his Bachelor of Architecture from Rice University, where he completed his Preceptorship in the Paris office of the internationally-renowned Renzo Piano Building Workshop. After graduating from Rice, Eric worked for several firms in Boston and Southern California.
 

Eric moved to Halifax in 2005 and is a  Permanent Resident of Canada.  Prior to forming Eric Stotts Architect in 2014, Eric worked as Associate and Design Director at DSRA Architecture after being Associate at MacKay-Lyons Sweetapple Architects, both in Halifax.
 

Eric has over 25 years of experience on a number of educational, institutional, mixed-use residential and commercial projects.  He has a deep interest in the design and construction of sustainable, high-performing buildings, is skilled in the use and implementation of design and project management technologies and has broad experience working within an Integrated Design environment.  Eric’s collaborative team-building skills are brought to bear on each and every project.

 

Eric has also served as an Adjunct Professor, thesis advisor and lecturer at the Dalhousie University School of Architecture, with a focus on Building Technology and Systems. Keenly interested in architectural drawing methods and theory, he is engaged in on-going explorations of artistic media, architectural representation and site documentation

As Jonathan studied energy efficient home designs and sustainable architecture, he began using these principles to develop green and sustainable construction processes. Prefab and Modular Home construction practices reduce the carbon footprint and waste products generated during the traditional home build process.

Jonathan recognized there is a need for small and sustainable eco-friendly dwellings
